Cadeler chooses Dutch designed Leg Encircling Cranes for the two future X-class vessels
Cadeler A/S, a key supplier of marine installation and engineering services in the offshore wind industry, has signed a contract with Huisman that will design and construct two >2,000 t Leg Encircling Cranes (LEC) for the two Cadeler X-class vessels scheduled to be ready by end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 respectively
Cadeler has announced today that the Dutch crane provider Huisman has been chosen to design and construct two identical LEC cranes, which will be installed on Cadeler’s new X-class vessels. These LEC cranes will have a 155 m long boom and with a reach of 180 m above deck. Furthermore, the boom has the option to be upgraded from 155m to 175 m, so that lifting height can be increased to 200 m, turning the new X-class vessels into future safe vessels that will be able to cater for the wind turbines of tomorrow.
